Change of shareholder and managing director at the Leipzig School of Media gGmbH
Leipzig, 1 October 2020. The new financial year of the Leipzig School of Media gGmbH (LSoM), a provider of extra-occupational training, begins with a change in shareholders and management. LSoM is thus setting the course for continuity and growth.
Media Foundation of Sparkasse Leipzig, founder and previous shareholder of the non-profit Leipzig School of Media, has transferred its shares to the new shareholder, marketing economist Rita Löschke, with effect from 1 October 2020. She also takes over the management. The previous managing director Michael Geffken will leave LSoM, which he has headed since 2010, when his contract expires on 31 October 2020.
Rita Löschke is looking forward to the new challenge: "I have known LSoM for a long time as a lecturer. Since it was founded, it has gained an excellent reputation and has developed into a strong brand. I am also looking forward to continue successful development of LSoM and to expand its offer, especially in the context of modern teaching and learning methods, aligning it to the rapidly changing market situation."
"We are pleased that we were able to find a new sponsor for our LSoM. Due to the difficult financial situation for many foundations due to the low interest rates that has persisted for years, Media Foundation must also streamline its current project portfolio of funding. We are convinced that under the leadership and sponsorship of Rita Löschke, LSoM will continue its successful work. We are also particularly grateful to her for taking over the team and thus maintaining qualified jobs. Our thanks go to the chairman of the supervisory board, Andreas Lindner (Head Lawer of Sparkasse Leipzig) and to the supervisory board members Professor Gerhard Heyer (University of Leipzig), Professor Uwe Kulisch (HTWK Leipzig) and Dr Reinhard Krug for their many years of commitment, as well as to the current Managing Director Michael Geffken for his successful work," said Stephan Seeger, Managing Director of Media Foundation of Sparkasse Leipzig.
With Rita Löschke, an experienced Leipzig entrepreneur and marketing expert takes over the company; she knows the education market and the Leipzig School of Media through her many years of lecturing and is very well networked in the central German marketing and media industry.
"I am pleased that a proven expert like Rita Löschke is taking over the management of LSoM, who stands for both the content and the values of our work so far," said the current Managing Director Michael Geffken.
Under the new leadership, the previous strategy of LSoM is to be continued and expanded. The focus continues to be the professional development and qualification of individual learners as well as the cooperation with companies and other educational institutions that face the challenges of digitization and want to use the opportunities associated with it.
The program of extra occupational, open seminars, courses and workshops is to be expanded and the merging of analog and digital teaching and learning formats is to be further promoted. In addition, the offer of customized in-house programs will come to the fore even more.
